Georgie Badiel is an international supermodel from the Ivory Coast, who moved with her parents Burkina Faso, West Africa. The former Miss Africa winner who began her modelling career in Africa at the tender age of 15, signed her first modelling contract aged 19 in Paris in 2005. Her unique beauty resulted in her being chosen as Model of the Year during the 2012 ARISE Magazine Fashion Week in Lagos.
Georgie created the fashion brand – Georgie’s Garden which specialises in African lingerie and accessories. Through her humanitarian work she is also the co-founder of the non-profit organisation Models 4 Water which provides access to clean water in Africa.
Canadian born Grace Mahary is simply a rising star and one to watch in the fashion world. With parents both from Eritrea, her flawless beauty is undeniable. She was scouted while on holiday in Toronto and in 2005 went on to win the Elle Canada/Quebec Model Search, leading to the start of an exciting modelling career in 2006. Her appearance in Trey Songz’s I Invented Sex/Say Ah music video and modelling in Paris were major stepping stones towards Grace’s breakthrough moment which came when she walked the Autumn/Winter 2012/13 Givenchy Show in Paris as an exclusive booked by Riccardo Tisci himself. Kristen Madison is a plus size beauty from Miami! For Kristen, her size 14-16 figure took some getting used to. Now an advocate for ‘curvy bodies’ Kristen explains that “self-acceptance is the key to happiness.” She explains, “You are your biggest fan! Being healthy is important and foremost. Live a balanced life and never beat yourself up about your height, weight, looks etc. Being curvy is sexy!”
Growing up as a tomboy, Kristen was not the typical model stereotype. However, after a photo-shoot arranged by her mother, the photographer told Kristen that she’d make a fabulous plus size model. She sent off some test shots and the rest is history. Kristen now travels around the world doing fashion shoots and catalogue campaigns.
Melodie Monrose began her modelling career at the age of 18 when she was scouted in her hometown, Martinique in 2010. Her striking features are simply stunning! Within weeks Melodie began walking runways in New York and Paris, making her debut during the Spring/Summer 2011 shows in New York. After her first runway season gracing the catwalk for many high-end designers, Melodie made it into the top 10 new models of spring 2011 at Style.com and Models.com. As well as being a model for Victoria’s Secret and working alongside Senait Gidey for the House of Holland Resort 2014, Melodie continues to walk the runway and shoot amazing features in magazines.
Senait Gidey is the amazing young fashion model who was discovered as a high school a few years ago. This fresh faced beauty was born and raised in Canada. However, her Ethiopian background is where her breath-taking features originate. Her look is versatile making her perfect for both high fashion and feminine editorial fashion shoots. In such a short space of time Senait has graced the catwalks of numerous big name fashion shows, as well as being featured on the pages of many fashion spreads this year. As the only black model featured in Karl Largerfeld’s Chanel Autumn/Winter 2013/14 show, and currently working alongside Melodie Monrose for the House of Holland Resort 2014, it is clear the Senait Gidey is definitely a star in the making.
The beautiful Victoria Lee was discovered in her hometown, Atlanta as a college student. Her career has taken her all over the United States modelling for well-known brands such as Macy’s, Nordstorm and Bloomingdale’s.
